= 4.95% as of March 14, 2025

ATB Prime Rate

Chinook Rate

= 5.45% (ATB Prime + 0.5)

Financing

100% financing on purchases up to the maximum ATB per head limits at the time of financing. No prepayment penalty on loans; can apply extra payments or pay out any time before term is due. All payments are applied to principal only - annual payments & pay outs is when interest is applied. Choice is yours as to where you to buy or sell. Private purchases require additional documents and LIS Brand Inspections. If brought through an Auction Market or Licensed Livestock Dealer these aren't required.

Members New to Industry

Individual Maximum Limit - $250,000.00

Farming Unit Maximum Limit - $500,000.00

Per Head Limits

Annual Payment Due Dates

Calves

Calves must be branded within 4 months of age and prior to going to summer pasture.

Early Payment Date: June 1

Annual Payment Due Date: December 1

All cattle and calves must be branded with the Shelter Over Diamond brand unless the annual payment has been made by early payment date.

Lambs

Lambs must be tagged and paint branded within a few days of birth. Once annual payment has been paid, you can brand them with your own brand and tag.

Annual Payment Due Date: June 1

All ewes, goats and their offspring, must be ear tagged with RFID tags in the right ear, with a list of the numbers used & provided to the Co-op office. Dangle tags are to be put in the left ear and CBC brand applied to the tag.
We have brand engraved tags available at our office, otherwise you can purchase tags through any other vendor.
All tags are at the member's expense and dangle tag colors are the member's choice. All lambs and goat kids
must be tagged within 24 hours of birth, unless the annual payment has been made by early payment date.
Paint brand should be same color as ear tag. We do have eartags at the office.

Chinook Breeder Co-op is the owner of the livestock until the loan is paid in full

All deads need to be reported to the supervisor Brad Sawley at (403) 336- 8304

All manifests are to be made out in the same name of Chinook Breeder Co-op on account of member

If Cull Cows or Ewes are sold, the payment is to be applied straight to the loan

*Branding / Tagging - Supervisor must inspect calves once branded and lambs are tagged.*
